US Spies want to find terrorists in WoW
Posted by Mark
It seems as though even terrorists need some R&R, and some US spies believe they hang around in World of Warcraft.
The Reynard project will begin by profiling online gaming behavior, then potentially move on to its ultimate goal of "automatically detecting suspicious behavior and actions in the virtual world."
Although the article doesn't mention wow by name with the exception of the title, it does seem a little scary that there will be software that is scanning the artificial worlds we all spend so much time in. And what happens if the software is bugged?

Mod Review: Auctioneer
Posted by Mark If you've been playing WoW and haven't heard of Auctioneer, you've also been living under a rock. So why mention Auctioneer? Because apparently some people still do live under rocks.
I wander Orgrimmar on my 70 lock and still get /tells from lowbies asking to spare a few measly gold. Sure, I look pretty decked out in my PvP gear and to the unknowing lowbie or new player to the game, I may look like I bleed gold coins, but I'm by no means exceptionally rich. Which is why I want to reiterate the importance of Auctioneer - it is by far one of the best mods available for the game, and many of it's features should be implemented into the actual game by Blizzard.
Auctioneer makes it simple to make gold playing the Auction House. All you need to do is invest a little time and maybe use your brain a little. Bundled with Bottom Scanner, Auctioneer allows you to find lower priced items that could potentially make you profit if you buy them and resell them. It tells you whether you'd buy to resell or Disenchant, potential profit, whether it can meet the current market value and many other great tools that do one thing; help make you money. Download Auctioneer from Curse.
